Truck Driver Arraignment Set After He Fatally Struck 2 Young Sisters Walking To School

Exposition Park, California (July 10,2019) –

Marlene and Amy, were fatally struck by truck driver Stanley Bernard Randle as they were on their way to school in the Exposition Park area. Randle, was originally charged in May of 2019 on two misdemeanor counts of vehicular manslaughter. If convicted, Randle could face up to two years in county jail.

According to police, Marlene Lorenzo, 14 and her 12-year old sister, Amy Lorenzo were struck by Randle while walking to Clinton Middle School. The accident occurred at the intersection of 37th Street and Broadway around 8 a.m. on April 4th, 2019. While police said there was no indication of drugs or alcohol, one witness did indicate the driver might have been looking at a cell phone when he struck the girls.
